Everyone learns better when they are relaxed. The full-time chefs prepare delicious meals enjoyed in the superb dining room, which dates back to 1328. There is a nine-hole golf course, a fitness suite, tennis courts and cycle tracks. If you are feeling less energetic, there is a billiard table, a traditional Finnish sauna and plenty of comfortable chairs in the lounge.
But, it’s not a holiday at Riversdown House. You will be speaking English every minute of your waking day, from breakfast until bedtime. It is the ideal training centre for senior business and professional people, who need to improve their confidence, fluency and range of English quickly. Where is Riversdown House?
Riversdown House is in the south of England in the beautiful South Downs National Park. The atmosphere is tranquil, peaceful and quiet. Riversdown House provides a very safe and relaxing space. All in English.
Where will I sleep?
All bedrooms are on-site, in or very near to the main house. They have beautiful views and private bathroom facilities. All meals including coffee breaks and a three-course dinner with wine are included in the price, as well as taxis to and from the airport of arrival. The Riversdown chefs serve delicious meals made from fresh, local ingredients.
What can I study?
Tailor-made and highly personalised programmes. The maximum intake is 10 participants. Riversdown House offers Customised private 1:1 sessions with your personal trainer(s). Structured and social learning are the pillars of your course. The centre is internationally acclaimed for its inter-cultural communications courses.

- Intensive: 26.25 hours individual tuition plus 3.75 hours self-study
- Dynamic: 22.5 hours individual tuition plus 7.5 hours self-study
Sporting, cultural and social activities
The centre has a 9-hole golf course and a wonderful golf coach John Harris, a former PGA professional.
Visits to theatre, cinema and concerts, cycling, tennis, fitness, pub visits, wine tasting and winery visits, quiz nights and guest speakers.
Visit Winchester and the Round Table of King Arthur (according to some sources).
