Some questions to think about

What are your objectives?
For most clients, it’s speaking with confidence and comprehension. But what are your objectives? Writing, presenting, speaking in meetings or an exam certificate?

What is the course content?
For every client it is different. What are the communication skills you need? What are your weaknesses? We’ll design a course based on you needs.

How would you like to have your lessons?
Choose from face-to-face in our offices in rue du Stand, in-company or online on Zoom. Our courses are private 1:1 or small group maximum four.

When is the best time for lessons?
Mornings and lunchtimes are generally best. You are generally fresher and more receptive. But we are flexible. We’ll do our best to fit in to your busy schedule.

Will I have access to an on-line platform?
Yes, you will. We have platforms for all levels in general and professional English as well as exams. However, the key to your English success is your trainer. We have eight dedicated and highly experienced trainers. That’s why we our clients have voted us a five-star learning experience.

How long is a lesson?
We recommend 90 minutes for face-to-face lessons and 60 minutes on Zoom. But, again we are flexible. We recommend at least one lesson a week with homework and online platform work. Some clients opt for more intensive classes.

How many lessons do I need?
We will tailor your lessons to your objectives and your budget. After we have tested you, we will prepare a personalised academic plan and costing and then you can make your final decision.

Should I do an exam?
Some people need an official exam result, such as the IELTS for university studies or a Cambridge general B2 or C1. But exams are not everyone’s cup of tea. For most of our clients, it’s more about confidence, fluency and range of language.

Can I have a lunch lesson and eat at the same time?
Yes, we have English for Lunch courses in several excellent restaurants close to the city centre.

Who should I speak to at The Language House?
Contact our director Garry Littman garry@tlh.ch or senior trainer David Creber david@tlh.ch.
