IELTS – International English Language Testing System
IELTS offers a General English exam and the hugely popular Academic English exam for students who wish to study in an English-speaking university.
IELTS and the Cambridge exams are now the world’s most popular English exams. There is no pass or fail. Students receive a mark for each paper (read, writing, listening and speaking) and an overall score out of 9.0. Most universities require a score between 5.5 and 7.5. IELTS is an excellent alternative to the Cambridge exams, especially if you are considering further studies. The IELTS exam dates are more flexible than the Cambridge exams. Exams are held almost every week.
