Do you love films? I mean, really love films.

Then this course, For the Love of Films, is for you.

Join our movie enthusiast, Stephen Alexander, who has taught film in the UK and Hollywood. Stephen is also an English teacher, and a novelist on the rise with four books under his belt.

As Stephen says: No other media affects us quite as powerfully as a movie can.

Why is that? A great movie can bring out our deepest feelings, emotions and fears. A great movie will help us reflect and better understand ourselves and bring us closer to those around us.

Movies strike at the very heart of what it is to be alive. In short, movies are powerful. They have the strength to unify or to tear us apart. Movies are life.

Were you glued to Squid Game on Netflix?
Do you love being transported into other worlds?
Are you still dreaming of Dirty Dancing with Patrick Swayze?
Did you ever go back in the water after watching Jaws?

This course will examine the impact of images, music, dialogue, lighting, sound, special effects and even the colour of an actor’s t-shirt! You’ll see how top screenwriters construct dialogue. The course is packed full of great cinematic experiences from all over the world!

Here’s just a sample:

Kathryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker)
