London Cambridge


Our London and Cambridge schools offer intensive courses of 25 to 30 hours per week for lawyers. It is also possible to do the Test of Legal English Skills exam (TOLES) and the Cambridge English for Law Examination.

Our trainers are specialist English language trainers with particular expertise in the law. There is important input from the legal world: sessions led by practising lawyers provide an authentic and practical contribution and the course also visits a law firm and the courts.

  • giving presentations
  • written communication including email, reports and formal letters
  • effective telephoning skills
  • hosting visits, socialising, meeting and greeting

Typical activities that you will participate in will include:

  • taking part in simulated meetings and negotiations
  • drafting examples of contracts
  • giving legal advice: for example describing the process of litigation to a foreign client, role-playing real life communicative situations such as greeting visitors, making arrangements by telephone and socialising
  • making a presentation on a legal topic of your choice
