Hi Mr Littman, My OZ life is absolutely smashing! I've met more interesting, and nice people than I thought. I've made so many friends and I saw many of them returning to their country. Moreover, the school and my teachers are so terrific, it's truly great. I haven't had a lot of time to visit places but Sydney is marvellous city, indeed. It is maybe one of the greatest moments of my short life .I hope everything is good for you in the cold Europe.

Sydney is so amazing! I'm really happy to be here. I live in a nice au-pair family (even though the work is quite hard) and I'm improving my English!
The school is good too. We have good and friendly teachers and I think what we learn is useful.
I already have Aussie friends too. They are so warm and welcoming. I like this way of life very much. My stay here is definitely an awesome experience.

More news: Hi Mister Littman iIm Kevin Wardas and i would like to give you some news about me and my life in Perth. So i'm arrived in Perth since 24.01.2009 and if i must describe how i feel here with two words : '' SO GOOOOOOD!!'' Of course I love Australia because the people are so friendly and happy I lOVE AUSTRALIAN PEOPLE for example your friend Mister Paxton!! He's so friendly with me and with all the students! When i see him every day he is always with a big smile and he says to me :'' How are Swiss guy?'' '' If you want something ask me!''. He’s a very good person. And I hope that you are good as me because here it's the best school I have ever been! I've met some news friends from all different countries- it's so good. The courses in the class room are sometimes a little bit boring but it's normal. So next week I will change level up so i will work harder! But it's not a problem i must do it! And after about my life outside the school. After the school i go with many friends in the shops in the City of Perth during the week and the weekend we go everytime on the BEACH!! and the night in the homeparty i enjoy this life. I think it's a good summary for 2 weeks and half. Tomorrow i will buy a postcard for you and another one for my family. So I hope all is well!! Have a nice day.

Hey Garry! I want to thank you for your help and giving me the idea to go and study at SELC. It is by far the greatest experience I’ve ever had...! I'm in Sydney now! I came back here for the summer...I loved it too much! Then I’m going to study in London. I looking forward to hear from you, Thanks

Hi Garry,
I've to apologize for the card I haven't sent yet...but I enjoy so much Australia that I forgot about it!!!
So I thought mailing you was a good way to tell you sorry but also to give you some news about me....
My FCE courses was really good, I met a lot of people, and I had good time with them...and two weeks ago was the final exam...I think I did well but, it was more difficult than in class but not impossible...so now I think my English is quite good...I understand people when they're speaking together, and even if my grammar is not good every time when I answer, I think it's quite okay!!!
My host family is really great, like a second family, they're so nice, and I've a lot in common with one of the daughters, who is 30, but she's like a big sister...so yes, I love this family, and I'd like to stay here longer, but I miss my family also...
Today I began my CAE courses, it's much more difficult than FCE, but I'll work more and more to pass the exam, because I'd like to come back with the feeling that I'd completed all my goals...it will be great...
Last week I went to Sydney to visit a friend from my village, it was wonderful...this city is amazing so big in comparison with Perth...I walked around the city and the beaches...but I prefer Perth, because in Sydney there is all the nationalities except Australian people...and there is a lot of tourist and French speakers, so Perth is the city which suits me the best...so thank you for your good choice Garry...
I hope all is all right in Geneva, and don't worry I'll send you not one card, but two...because of my lateness...
That is a quick idea of my life in Australia...
Have a nice and cold day.
Best wishes,
Morgane Priser CH
Hello Garry

Hello Garry, Just a few words about my trip in Autralia. Every thing is OK, English lessons are very interesting; David, Sveta and their children are really nice people and good teachers. I'm really glad to have met them. My accommodation is perfect too: Marissa is really kind and I spent great time with her (and her dog ;-)). Thank you for everything. Have a good day,

Hello Garry I am in Australia since 4 months and like living here. Shafston is a good school and the teachers are interesting. Hi Garry !
How are you ?
I am still enjoying my stay in Perth, it is wonderful...Even though time goes too quickly! I leave Perth in 2 months and I will spend one month on the East Coast before I come back. I know the city quite well now, I have got Aussie friends and a great job so it will be hard to leave.
I got my results for my exams, I am so happy, I got A in FCE and B in CAE.
I hope you are not too cold in Geneva, here it is 36. Actually, I was swimming in the ocean not later than 5 hours ago.
See you soon,

Hello Garry,
Everything is great in Australia! Sydney is a wonderful city, there is always something to do! The Stevens are very nice with me. They have already invited me to see go to the sea with them in the south of Sydney last Sunday. The beach was wild and we were almost alone so it was quite interesting. I haven't seen any kangaroos yet, but there were a lot of pelikans! It is the first time I see wild pelikans. The lessons at the GV school are fun! I've already met a lot of people! I'm going to the Blue Mountains with some Japanese friends next Saturday. Tomorrow, I'm going to meet one of the au pair family. They have 4 children and they live next to Bondi Beach! I've also another interview next Sunday with a family in Marouba in the southern suburbs. They have two children. I ll will make my choice at the end of the week! The weather is hot and sunny so I enjoy the parcs a lot! Thank you for your mail! Have a nice day!
More news: Hello Garry,
How are you? I'm really happy here! My au pair family is very nice with me. The 4 children (18 months, 4 yo, 6 yo, 8 yo) are cute, even if it is sometimes a lot of work to look after them... But the house is in North Bondi, 10 min by foot from Bondi Beach! That's great! The thing is that I haven't seen a lot of sun since now.... But summer is not finished yet! I hope it will be back again. I have a lot of good friends from everywhere now. I go out a lot with them! This next weekend, we are going to Newcastle in Port Stevens with a rented car to see dolphins and go sand-boarding. Next week, I'm going to grade up to the advanced class. That's a good thing for me! I'm happy! Everything is so easy here in Sydney! I love this town and its nice people! I think I won't want to go back in Switzerland...
More news: Hi Garry,
I've been back home since 3 weeks now after 7 months in Australia. And I have to say, it was an absolutely wonderful experience! I enjoyed my life in Sydney so much! My homestay family, where I worked as an au-pair, was very nice with me and, even if sometimes it was a bit tiring to look after 4 lively children, I had a good relationship with the children. I wasn't maybe really involved in the family life, but on the other hand I got a lot of freedom to go out with my friends. I appreciated being independent. Indeed, I met heaps of people from everywhere at the school, and we quickly became a sort of new family for each other! We often organised trips to Melbourne or other places for 1 weekend and I even travelled with a German girl friend on the East Coast for 2 weeks in JuneI attended a course to pass the CAE exams in Global Village, and I got the Certificate with a good mark (77%). I think both the Cambridge preparation and the General English courses are quite good and I found the teachers very effective and fun! I spent my last 2 months in Australia travelling around. As I said before, I travelled on the East Coast with a friend but also on my own (that was a big adventure for me, but everything was fine and I enjoyed it quite a lot!) and my parents also came for a few weeks. They rent a motorhome and we drove through the Red Center from Canberra to Darwin and then Cairns. It was amazing! I loved Uluru and Kakadu National Park! Well, now I must still get used to my Swiss life, and I miss Sydney a lot. But I'm going to start University in Lausanne next week, and I'm quite excited to start something new! Thanks a lot for your help with my adventure in Australia!

Sydney is really wonderful! I like its cosmopolitanism and all the different cultures you can get in contact with. And for sure, it's also very beautiful. I enjoyed the city skyline and the Opera House a lot!
The school is really cool and the staff very friendly! It is a comfortable place to study. My host family is very easy-going and even if at first I was a bit anxious, it's now all gone

G'day, :-)
My name is Isabelle. I was 19 years old when i took off from Geneva to go to Perth (Western Australia). So, I had been away from my country, my family, my friends for 6 months.
It's tough to summary six months full of discovery, fun, new friends, great moments, but also hard times. Yet, I'm gonna do my best to give you a small Idea of what a journey in Austrlalia can look like.
From September 2006 to March 2007 I was both, a student (at Milner college) and a nany (= au pair). So, i had to go to school every day from 9am to 15pm. It mights surpise you, but I was good fun to be at school. The teachers were really great and the fact that the class was multicultural brought even more fun. As a result, I have not only learned English with pleasure (it's the best way to communicate with people from different Countries), but i have also discovered new cultures and ways of thinking.
As a nanny, i had to look after 3 kids from 9 to 13 yars old. It was very interesting to organise myself in such way that i could go to school, look after the children, meet my friends and study.
Thanks to the kids, I learned a lot. My English improved and i discoverd a bit more of myself. My friends met the kids and we enjoyed spending all together... In the end, everyone was happy: me,my friends, the kids and their parents.
During Christmas holiday and some weekends, I went on trips. I travelled by car (fortunatly my homestay mother had a car for me) with some of my friends. So, in addition to everything I was usually doing I have visited the surroundings and some well-known places of Western Australia. Every trip was an adventure, not only because the car was old, but also because Australia is full of surprises.
Australia is a HUGE Country. Its size is not the only impressive aspect. I have nerver met people as friendly and easy-going as australian (even american people). They are so open minded and cheerful.
Austrlian culture is very different from ours.... as long as we are ready to meet "real" ausrtalian and to open ourselves to them we can have great surprises ans meet amazing people.
It is worth it leaving behind us all the prejudiced we might have about the Country of the kangaroos and just... go for it & take ti easy, mate! :-)
Isabelle Becker (Genève)
So far so so good :))
Already thinking about staying for a longer duration. Everything is nice, weather, people, the city.

Hello Garry
I arrived in Brisbane one and a half weeks ago. My homestay family is very, very nice. They're so friendly and helpful. Their two girls talk a lot with me. I think, I'll learn English quickly. :-)
Sorry for my mistakes in writing, my English is not very good yet ! I've seen a possum on a tree in the garden of my homestay family, it was great! I already like Australia and its habitants, I'm happy to be here. Last weekend I visited the Koala-Sanctuary, I touched kangourous and held a koala. That day was perfect, it was a great experience !All this just to tell you that I’m good arrived in Brisbane and that I feel very well here and especially in my homestay family. The school is good too - actually I'm looking for a job.
More news: Two weeks ago I was on a trip to Byron Bay & Nimbin. Byron Bay is a very nice place and the view form the Light House is really great! Nimbin is a strange city with a lot of old hippies. I liked it. I took some stunning pictures and sent them to my family ! :-)) Last Friday I went three days to Great Barrier Reef, it was awesome!
I went kayaking and snorkelling. I saw lots of beautiful and colorful fishes and also some sea turtles! On 31.12. I'm going on a trip to Sunshine Coast & Noosa. I'm looking forward to it.
Christmas was great. I've had lots of fun. My homestay family mum organized a big breakfast for the whole family. It was absolutely delicious ! Her father and sister with husband came over. Especially the girls were very excited. :-))It was strange to have such a HOT Christmas, I really enjoyed it ! In the afternoon I went swimming at Southbank with a Korean friend. It was a really great day. Hope your Christmas was nice too!
Postcard :
I’m in Perth now and I absolutely love this town. The Advanced courses are difficult for me. I study a lot, but always take time to enjoy life. Yesterday it is was 41.8 degrees, the hottest day of my life! Luckily the beaches are so gorgeous here.
More news: Hello Garry,
How are you ? Hope it isn't too cold in Geneva !
I just want to send you some pics from Brisbane, Perth and my trips to the Koala Sanctuary, Fraser Island, Byron Bay & Nimbin, The Great Barrier Reef, Pinguin Island, a four-day-trip by car to southwestern Australia and Rottnest Island.
I enjoy my time in Perth, it's a lovely town and Amanda (my homestay mum) is very kind. The exams for the Advanced are getting closer and I have to study a lot. But I always take time for having fun and doing some trips. :-) We will see how it goes...
I wish you a very nice day and send you a lot of sunshine from Perth !
Best greetings

Hi Garry!
This was my first day in school and everything is really cool and easy. I m actually in level 4, I hope this is gonna be enough for the advanced, but I have a lot of time until Christmas holiday, so I will be better in English until that time!! I am living in Heather’s house and I like it, Heather is very nice and cooks so well! I think this is a good thing to be with other girls like me, because we spend our time together, so I’m never alone, I have no time to be homesick... And the best is that I have already friends before beginning school!! Good for you too because you don t have to worry for me, everything is fine for the moment, and I hope this is gonna be always like this!!!
More news: I'm a demi-pair girl so I'm living with a family who has three children. I have to care for the youngest child of the family who is already twelve years old. My work consists of staying with him before the parents come home, around 5.30 p.m and that's all! The family is really nice they are amazing people ant it doesn't take me a long time to feel at home in this family. I have my own bedroom and my own bathroom. The school is also good, I've met there a lot of students from everywhere in the world and it's really not difficult to find new friends... We are organising a lot of party together so we're having a great time! I first studied General English and I must confess that it was sometimes too easy for me, but the teacher are often really interesting Now I am doing the CAE which is quite challenging. The city is nice, you can find a lot of beaches all around Perth and there are nice shops to make some shopping. It's a small city but the centre is lovely and there are a lot of coffee shop, restaurant or night clubs if you want to go out!!

Hello Garry! Australia was just amazing! I arrived there a little scared because I didn't know English that much and everybody was speaking so fast! But my family was very friendly and nice with me, I get used to it easily. My first day at school was cool because I met a lot of people but the people working at Shafston were not very clever because they made a visit of the school with group of people from the same area as me, Europe! And so I met French people... It wasn't so terrible and good to speak French sometime! What I liked the most there, was that Shafston isn't in the city and it's very quiet and nice. The FCE course was great too, I learned so many things, it's during this time that I improved the most my English and I passed FCE so I'm very happy.
The thing that I loved the most in Australia was travelling and visiting all the beautiful places! I made a trip from Melbourne to Darwin and that was just awesome! Meeting local people and others everywhere was very interesting. I met some unforgettable people and I really enjoyed my time. Australia is so big that I thing you need more than one year to visit and see everything. I wish I would returne there and travel more! I hope I didn't make too many mistakes! Thank you for everything. See ya!

Hi Gary! Just letting you know that everything's going pretty good. I'm at the moment looking for a share flat because i want to experience what's it like to live on your own. So far my family has been really great with me. I get along very well with the children and the father, the mother though is sometimes a bit moody but still they're awesome! I'm going to be sad to leave them.
Apart from that, school's really great I've met a lot of very nice people after three weeks of General English i was to take one term of Business English but didn't like as much as I thought I would so I changed to IELTS Preparation and it's much better but I cannot wait for the Cambridge Course to begin! I took a test on Friday to see what level of Cambridge Exam I have. I hope I'll be able to take the CPE Class that would represent such a challenge! I'll have the results tomorrow or on Thursday. Can’t wait! Otherwise there's nothing much to tell; all the teachers are really nice. On Friday Bert, the activities officers is going to organise some talent contests; I’m going to play the guitar and sing and hopefully I'll win. He told me he has a lot of great prizes yay!

Dear Garry!
I'm writing this email to give some news from Australia.
It's now almost three months I'm there and I'm really enjoying the time.
First about the school: I'm plenty satisfied. During my General English I had very good teachers and the lessons are interesting...we talk a lot about many topics and this is was essential for me to don't be shy when I'm talking in English. I'm more confident now. This is my first week in Cambridge Course...I'm doing the first certificate...now it's going to be harder but I think I will like it...and it's the best way to improve my English. About the au pair programm: The school have a good organisation. Paula is very nice and we feel immediately comfortable. I'm now in a fantastic family. They have three children: Lauren (7), Ben (4) and Jack (2). I'm happy to have been chosen by them. The children are so cute, I'm really attached to them. Thank you for all your organisation as well.

Hello Garry,
How are you? I'm terribly sorry I didn't send you an e-mail earlier... I'm feel really good here, I didn't realise, the time are running sooo fast!!! I went kayaking, saw a dolphin! Went to the Gold coast for shopping, I went to Tabulam for Easter holiday with my home-family, camping in the bush, really funny!! And for sure: going to the beach almost every day, enjoy the sun and the beautiful places, which you can find only here!! I wish never have to come back in Swizterland! But... I finish school next week and after I'm going to take 2 weeks for travel a bit! I want to go to the Greet Barrier reef and to Sydney, so I have to organise everything! I'm super excited!! I really want to thank you for your help, both schools went beautifully, I meet a lot of different people and I really improve my German and English level. I hope you are all right, do you come to Australia soon?!? Maybe see ya in Geneva!

Hi Garry,
Thanks for your email, everything is going well here for me. My family is really nice, I'm quite lucky! I have two little boys (5 and 6 years old) and they are well-educated so I haven't had any problem yet! Currently, my mother is in Perth with me. She came to visit me and was supposed to leave today but all the flights to Europe cancelled because of the volcano in Iceland! Obviously she's here 1 week more at least. The school is good, I did the FCE as well. I finished in March and then went to Bali one week before beginning the CAE. We are only 4 girls in my class so it's really intense and I'm improving my English extremely fast! I'll tell you more when I come back! Postcard coming soon... Hope everything is alright in Geneva, Regards

Bonjour Gary!
